  Ah, yes, my dear nvr, but still, atheism is an "ism". I suppose, my anti "ism" stance could also be called an "ism", since, "ism" denotes a belief system, does it not? I just have not formalized my group yet... I'm on my way now to look for followers. I have a pamphelt I'll be giving out door-to-door.

  WTS Higher Education Policy

  a couple of topics recently have made me think about exactly how cynical are the wts when it comes to their higher education policy for the rank and file.. first one was mavie's about her forthcoming jc which prompted me to flick through richard dawkins the god delusion.

  dawkins quotes from a study published in mensa magazine 2002; .

  "of 43 studies carried out since 1927 on the relationship between religious belief and one's intelligence and/or educational level, all but four found an inverse connection.

  Funny story: In a recent discussion with my JW, he admitted to me that he was (his words) "dumb". Yet, he expects to be the "head" of the household and have me (a college educated, skeptical girl) not argue or disagree with him in any way. After his confession that he's "dumb", I said "well, I'm not, so you should listen to me".

  Silly me, though, he'll never listen to me because I don't have WTBTS tatooed on my forehead!!

  Interesting article nvr. I enjoyed it. Being the skeptic that I am, I thought that perhaps Mr. Dawkins had created his own meme with his meme theory and I see from prior posts that I'm not alone in that idea. Still, I wish I could get Mr. Witness to read the article, but since it's from an "athesist" site, I'm sure he'd be afraid that it would burn his eyes from their very sockets.

  i speak of the furry kind that burrow under my yard and destroy it.

  this year in our area they were terrible.

  i do not lie when i state that nearly every square foot of my front lawn was tunnelled this summer, some of it three and four times after i pressed down the tunnels with my feet and mower.

  A cat. The little buggers have a highway through my basement and my cat kills them and leaves their little carcasses for me to find.
